The wife of former Kaugama Local Government Council Chairman, Alh. Ahmed Yahaya Marke, on Wednesday, July 14, was abducted by unknown gunmen in Jigawa State.
The victim’s relative, Aliyu Ahmad, narrated to newsmen that the gunmen numbering about 10 stormed the residence of the former local council boss in Marke village on motorcycles.
He said the victim identified as Hajiya Fatima was beaten and tortured before she was whisked away around 1:00am.
Aliyu explained that four of the gunmen, fully armed, entered the house while the remaining six gunmen stayed outside to monitor the situation.
He explained that the hoodlums contacted the family but didn’t announce the ransom.
ASP Lawan Shisu, the Spokesman of the state police command, also confirmed the incident.
He noted that police are working with other security agencies to trace the kidnappers and rescue the victim.
