LaLiga: Why Barcelona has Cristiano Ronaldo’s posters at training ground

Barcelona have reportedly pinned news stories about Cristiano Ronaldo’s positive coronavirus test as a warning to their players to stay in line.

The Juventus forward was the most high-profile player to pick up the virus after being infected whilst on international duty with Portugal last October.

It caused Ronaldo to miss Juventus’ Champions League group stage game in Turin, a match the Barca won 2-0 thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi.

Although the walls of Barca’s training ground are covered with pictures of Messi, there is also a small dedication to his eternal rival.

It is understood that in one of the dressing rooms at their Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper facility, a story relating to his positive test is pinned up.

It is placed to serve as a warning to Ronald Koeman’s stars to live by the strict precautions in place to keep them COVID free.
