Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has given an update on the pro-Biafra leader.
Ejiofor disclosed that Kanu is strong in his conviction, adding that he is in high spirit, despite being incercerated.
The lawyer disclosed this after a routine visit to the IPOB leader at the headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS, on Thursday.
In a Facebook post, Ejiofor wrote: “UPDATE: I just left the DSS Headquarters now along with my colleagues, after our routine visit to Our Client – Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is strong in his convictions, and very much high in spirit.
“Our interactions dwelt much on our professional services, which highlights remain private.
“May the Mighty Name of Chukwuokike be praised forever. Victory is certainly ours.”
Kanu has been in DSS detention since he was rearrested and repatriated to Nigeria.
The IPOB leader was rearrested and repatriated from an unspecified African country believed to be Kenya.
Kanu’s stay in DSS custody followed an order by Justice Binta Nyako of Abuja Federal High Court, following his repatriation to Nigeria.
However, the secret police last week failed to produce the IPOB leader in court.
Following his inability to appear in court, Justice Nyako had adjourned the matter till October.
