President Muhammadu Buhari and members of his entourage to the United Kingdom have gone into quarantine.
This was inline with the COVID-19 guidelines.
This was confirmed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu in Abuja on Sunday.
According to him the decision of Buhari to go into quarantine was in accordance with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines for international travel.
Unconfirmed reports have it that upon his arrival at the United Kingdom, the President was seen in close contact with some officials of the Nigeria High Commission in London who have tested positive for coronavirus.
Recall that the Nigerian High Commission in London has since been shut down to observe the mandatory ten days isolation of those who were in contact with affected officials.
Meanwhile, Nigeria on Saturday recorded eight additional fatalities from the coronavirus pandemic with 665 fresh cases reported across 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The data indicates that Nigeria’s total infection from the pandemic currently stands at 181,962 while the fatality toll increased to 2,219.
