A former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has taken to his Twitter page to lament over the killing of 25 Fulani Herdsmen killed by Irigwe Militias in Jos while on their way back home to Ondo State.
According to reports, the incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. around Gada-Biyu – Rukuba road area in Jos, the state capital.
It was said that about 25 travellers who were Fulanis were killed with machetes, daggers, knives, stones, and various dangerous weapons, while over 50 others are currently missing.
The Fulani Herdsmen were dragged down while moving in five hummer buses by suspected Irigwe Militias after attending the annual Zikr (prayer session) organized by Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi to mark the commencement of Muharram, the new Islamic Year.
Reacting to this, Femi Fani-Kayode, who seems displeased by the incident, considered it to be a vicious act. According to the former Minister, he regarded the incident as wickedness and evil, adding that the perpetrators are cold-blooded murderers and vicious beasts.
“Irigwe militias in Jos butchered no less than 40 Fulani travellers on their way back home to Ondo state after attending a religious event in Bauchi yesterday. This is evil. This is wickedness. This is madness. The killers are nothing but cold blooded murderers and vicious beasts.”, Femi Fani Kayode tweeted.
