Edinson Cavani made his first appearance for Manchester United in the 2021/2022 season, in their 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
The Uruguay striker was given an extended vacation by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer.
However, he was called up from the bench, as United tried to find a way past a resilient Wolves side at the Molineux.
Cavani came on wearing the no 7 shirt, which has become a hot topic in football circles, because of the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to the club.
Ronaldo is one of the United legends associated with the shirt, along with David Beckham and Eric Cantona.
However, Cavani wearing the shirt on Sunday, all but ends the speculation over if he will hand it over to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo missed the game, as he is yet to finalize his move from Juventus.
