English FA punish Chelsea after Liverpool incident

English Premier League giant,  were earlier charged by the English FA following the unsavoury circumstances that followed after Reece James was sent off against Liverpool, Chelsea has been charged by the FA for two breaches of the same rule.

After analyzing the incident on the touchline VAR monitor, referee Anthony Taylor ruled the right-back to have handled the ball on the goal-line.

When the penalty was granted, Thomas Tuchel’s team held a 1-0 lead courtesy to a spectacular header from Kai Havertz.

Taylor’s decision to give a penalty, which Liverpool star Mohamed Salah converted, and to dismiss James enraged the Blues.

It wasn’t enough that referee Anthony Taylor sent Reece James off against Liverpool, enabling Chelsea to play a whole half with a man advantage in a game they should have won, for an incident that wasn’t his fault.

Chelsea will be fined £25,000 by the FA for failing to control their players during the 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.

At Anfield last month, Thomas Tuchel’s team was punished with breaking two FA regulations.

“Chelsea FC has been penalised £25,000 for two violations of FA Rule E20.1 that occurred during their Premier League match against Liverpool FC on Saturday 28 August 2021,” the FA said in a statement.

“The club confessed that it did not ensure that its players behaved in an orderly manner during the 48th minute of the first half and after the half-time whistle.”
