The Osun State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reiterated its readiness to eliminate quackery in the private security companies.
This is as the corps explained further that the prevailing security challenges in the country called for everyone to be vigilant and not commit actionable intelligence to the hands of security personnel alone.
This decision was contained in a press statement issued by the command and signed by DSC Adigun Daniel, the Spokesperson of the command after a meeting with stakeholders of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) organised by the Private Guards Control Department of Osun NSCDC in Osogbo.
Speaking at the meeting, the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Emmanuel Ocheja represented by the Command’s Deputy Commandant, Stands Ibrahim enjoined the private guards operators to collaborate with the NSCDC by providing accurate intelligence to the corps.
While addressing the stakeholders, the head of department of Private Guards Control in the command, Deputy Commandant Awofade Olufemi said the private guards personnel would be trained on capacity building in information management and necessary operational strategy needed to tackle new security challenges in the country.
Awofade revealed the decision of the command to clamp down on all illegal security operators in the State, adding that those companies that were yet to renew their licenses would be dealt with.
