A retired lecturer of the Federal Polytechnic, Ofa, Kwara State, Fasasi Olanigan has been rescued from his abductors by local hunters.
The hunters were said to have engaged the kidnappers in combat in Isaga area of Ogun State and they fled, abandoning their victim.
According to DAILY POST, Olanigan was rescued on Thursday, September 9, one day after he was abducted by bandits on his way from Abeokuta to Imasai on Wednesday, September 8.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that Olanigan was kidnapped while driving from Abeokuta to Imasai, unaware that bandits were lying in wait. They then dragged him into the bush, leaving his car by the roadside.
Following the abduction, hunters combed the forest in search of the kidnappers and were able to rescue the former lecturer.
The hunters were said to have taken the rescued victim to the palace of the Onisaga, and later to the police station, before he was driven to a private hospital in Abeokuta to receive treatment for injuries sustained while in custody of the kidnappers.
He has now been reunited with his family.
