Two suspects, Bashir Mohammed and Nasir Salisu have been paraded by the police in connection with the murder of Captain Abdulkareem, son of Senator Bala Na’Allah, who represents Kebbi South Senatorial seat in the Senate.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that unknown persons invaded the residence of Captain Abdulkarim Ibn-Na-Allah at Malali GRA, Kaduna and murdered him in cold blood. The assailants also made away with some of the pilot’s valuables including a Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, who disclosed this said the suspects including the third person, Usman Kano now at large sold the pilot’s SUV in Niger Republic at the cost of N1 million.
“On getting the report of the unfortunate incident, the Command immediately ordered for a full scale investigation to be carried out by the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) to unravel the circumstances of the dastardly act,” Jalige stated.
“The investigation has yielded a positive result with the arrest of the principal suspect as one Bashir Mohammed m’ who happened to be the immediate Neighbour to the deceased. He confessed that on the 28th August, 2021 at about 0100hrs, he gained access into the vicinity of the deceased residence while it was raining climbed the roof top and removed the nails of the roofing sheets to pave way for their next move which is to kill and steal the said vehicle.
“That on the 29th August, 2021 at about 0200hrs, Bashir Mohammed, Nasiru Salisu Balarabe a.k.a Uban-Daba and Usman a.k.a Dankano now at large invaded the house again and entered through the rooftop, hacked the deceased and made away with his Lexus Sport Utility Vehicle, Apple Ipad, Samsung Cell Phone, Three (3) fabric materials of different colours and Wrist Watches.
“The suspects confessed to have carried out the offence and further stated that the vehicle has been sold in Niger Republic at the rate of One Million Naira (N1,000,000) with the proceed shared amongst them. Investigation is ongoing with the aim of arresting the fleeing suspect and be charged to court for diligent prosecution.”
The prime suspect, Mohammad, who claimed he did not know his victim, said they gained access into the deceased’s house to steal his car.
“One day, we were passing in front of his house, three of us including Nasiru, me (Bashir) and Usman DanKano, when we saw a car parked inside the deceased house. DanKano casually said we will come and pick the car from the house,” he said.
“The next day while it was raining, we gained access into the vicinity of the deceased residence, climbed the rooftop and removed the nails of the roofing sheets.
“When we got inside the house, Nasiru and I opened the door for Usman who was holding a torchlight. The light from the torch attracted the attention of the deceased and immediately he saw us, he picked something from under his bed and he started struggling with Nasiru.
“During the struggle, the deceased fell down and when he fell down, we used a rope for hanging clothes to tie him and he never spoke again. We picked up the car keys and left.”
The other suspect Nasir Salisu, said Mohammad enlisted him in the operation.
Nasiru, a first-time offender who lives in Kawo, said Bashir tied the victim up after the struggle.
“I bought 23 bags of rice with my share of the money but it was intercepted by customs.” said Salisu.
