Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr believes while Victor Osimhen has made tremendous progress in his game, the Napoli striker is not yet world-class.
Osimhen opened his account for the season with a brace against Leicester City in a Europa League group stage match in England on Thursday night.
“Victor is currently one of the best strikers in Europe, but not yet in the world,” Rohr told Tuttomercatoweb.com. “Osimhen is young, ambitious and very motivated.”
“I think he has what it takes to become a great striker, one of the best ever. But he still has to grow.” Rohr added.
Meanwhile, Napoli will be relying on the scoring prowess of Victor Osimhen when the Luciano Spalletti visit Udinese in the Serie A tie today.
Despite going down 2-0 away to Leicester City in England, it was Osimhen who saved the visitors from the jugular of defeat with his second half brace that drew the tie for the Italian side and again, Coach Spalletti is keeping faith with the Nigerian.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Spalletti wants to make Osimhen a relentless bomber and from the very first days of Dimaro’s retirement he has been working on it with great desire.
“Spalletti paid great attention to Osimhen: on a technical, tactical and even behavioural level, without sparing his father’s jokes about his hair,” the paper claimed.
In the probable 4-2-3-1 line-up of Napoli, there will be Ospina in goal with a defense composed of Di Lorenzo, Manolas, Koulibaly and Mario Rui.
The middle will be manned by Fabiàn-Anguissa tandem, while in the offensive trident Politano, Zielinski and Insigne should have the better of Lozano, Elmas and Ounas, cards to be played during the race in progress. The front line will be anchored by Osimhen.
