Simon Ekpa, a disciple of the Supreme Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has reacted to the death of former Deputy Governor of the Nigerian Central Bank, Obadiah Mailafia.
The pro-Biafra agitator suggested that Mailafia may have been assassinated by President Muhammadu Buhari and his “Jihadist cabals” for proposing a nationwide sit-at-home for Christians.
Ekpa made the suggestion via his Twitter handle after the death of the 64-year-old activist.
WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that Mailafia died in the early hours of Sunday at the National Hospital Abuja after a brief undisclosed ailment.
The activist was said to have complained of discomfort and pain on Saturday shortly after returning from a function. Hw was reportedly taken to Gwagwalada Hospital in Abuja and later referred to the National Hospital where he died on Sunday.
In a tweet, Ekpa wrote: “If Dr Mailafia has been assassinated by @NGRPresident @MBuhari and his Jihadists cabals, that will tell you how hard he hit them with a week sit at home proposal for all Christians in Nigeria.
“They don’t want to see him live and achieve that civil disobedience and be another Mahatma G.”
The former presidential candidate, who hails from Southern Kaduna, had consistently condemned activities of criminal killers and herdsmen terrorising the Middle Belt and other parts of the country.
He recently stirred controversy after he granted an interview accusing most top government officials of sponsoring terrorism in Nigeria.
