British mum-of-two who was ‘too young’ to have breast cancer dies of disease weeks after wedding

A mum-of-two who was told that she was “too young” to have breast cancer has died just weeks after her wedding day.

Sinead Richards found a lump on her breast in late 2019 and when she visited doctors in early 2020, nothing was initially diagnosed because, at 29, she was deemed too young for breast cancer.

The mum-of-two was eventually diagnosed with stage four breast cancer which had spread all over her body.

She died on 10 September at the age of 31, just weeks after tying the knot with her partner of 12 years Liam McDonagh, 33, on 19 August, Yahoo News reports.

He said, “When we were in the hospital, people would give us a second glance as they couldn’t believe how young we were. She was only 31, we couldn’t believe it.”

Sinead, a pastoral mentor, also left behind the couple’s two daughters, Paige, 7, and Georgie, 10.

Her widower is now urging other women to get tested regardless of their age.

He added: “If her story helps even one more person to get checked, this will have all been worthwhile. She was the most amazing person.

“I just want to show that this can happen to anyone and urge people to get checked if they ever notice anything.”
