Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari will address the country through a nationwide broadcast on Friday morning.
This was made known on Thursday by Femi Adesina, the special adviser to the president on media and publicity.
According to Adesina, the broadcast is part of activities to commemorate Nigeria’s 61st independence anniversary celebrations.
“As part of activities marking the 61st independence anniversary of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will broadcast to the nation on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 7 am,” Adesina said.
“All television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), respectively, for the address.”
Since he became president in 2015, President Buhari has always presented Independence Day speeches via televised broadcasts.
