The Oyo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Advisory Council has revealed why former President, Goodluck Jonathan can’t become Nigeria’s president on the platform of the ruling party become 2023.
Chairman of APC Elders Council in the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, said the ruling party has people already lined up to become president in 2023.
The former Oyo state governor stated this during an interview on Agidigbo 88.5 FM in Ibadan, the state capital.
Alao-Akala, however, said Jonathan was free to join the APC but should dismiss the notion of becoming the party’s presidential candidate in 2023.
“I am not saying Jonathan can’t join APC but he can’t be president under APC in 2023.
“I’m not saying Jonathan can’t be president but it can never be under APC in 2023 because some people are on the queue already,” he said.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Jonathan has been linked to APC ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike had cautioned Jonathan against defecting to the APC, stating that the ruling party will destroy the reputation of the former president if he joins the party.
