Ekiti state born politician, Paul Omotosho has emerged as chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The ruling party, APC is currently holding its congress across states in the country.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that Omotosho emerged through a consensus at the congress which took place at the mini pavilion, around Fajuyi roundabout, Ado-Ekiti.
The new development was announced on Saturday by chairman of the APC congress election committee for the state, Yusuf Galambi.
According to Galambi, 37 candidates showed interest in the different positions, while 36 attended the screening.
He said all the positions were contested unopposed.
Speaking with journalists shortly after his emergence as chairman, Omotosho said he would take the party “to an enviable height”.
He assured that the state executives would ensure that the party gets a landmark victory in the 2022 governorship election.
Prior to the congress, Omotoso was the APC caretaker committee chairman in the state.
