Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t in the top five players of all-time, according to former Real Madrid and AC Milan star Antonio Cassano.
Ronaldo recently became the highest-scoring international goalscorer of all-time, adding to an esteemed list of records the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has broken in his career.
The 36-year-old has been successful in three different leagues and is the record scorer in the Champions League, a competition he has won five times.
However, former Real Madrid and Italy striker, Antonio Cassano, has excluded Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo from his top five football players in history.
According to Cassano, Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi; late Argentine legend, Diego Maradona; Dutch legend, Johan Cruyff; and Brazil legends, Pele and Ronaldo Nazario are the greatest players of all-time ahead of Ronaldo.
Speaking on Christian Vieiri’s Twitch channel, Bobo TV, via AS, Cassano confidently declared: “Enough theatre.
“Is Cristiano Ronaldo the best in the history of football?
“He is not even in the top five.”
He added, “For me, [Lionel] Messi, Pele, [Diego] Maradona, [Johan] Cruyff and Ronaldo [Nazario] are on another level.”
Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’ Or five times in the past.
Only Messi has won more Ballon d’Or than Ronaldo.
