The ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that Nigerians must unite to ‘defeat agents of destruction’.

This was stated by the ruling party in reaction to an attack of a train on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line.

A loud bang, suspected to be caused by an explosive allegedly planted by bandits, led to the shutdown of a train on the Abuja-Kaduna rail track on Wednesday night. The incident occurred around 8pm.

A backup train reportedly got to the passengers at about 12:15am and it slowly pushed them to the Rigasa train station in Kaduna.

The national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) caretaker committee in a statement issued on Thursday described the attack as “despicable” but said “together we shall overcome them”.

“Nigerians by now have realised that the APC led-government of President Muhammadu Buhari means well for Nigerians and is doing everything possible to deliver infrastructure to Nigerians amidst difficult economic times, globally,” he said.

“We must stay united so we can defeat the agents of destruction who have vowed to set Nigeria backwards.

“Just this morning, an Abuja-Kaduna passenger train was attacked by criminals, depriving Nigerians the services it provides. This is so despicable, but together we shall overcome them.”

However, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has shutdown the service as a precaution.
