Victor Osimhen has been setting Serie A alight this season with the Nigeria international bagging nine goals in 10 games across all competitions for Napoli.
Plaudits have been coming thick and fast for the striker, who has been described as “unstoppable” by Walter Sabatini.
Osimhen’s form has led to interest from abroad with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid both keeping a close eye on the prolific 22-year-old.
Madrid’s priority targets remain Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland and Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski, but Osimhen has emerged as a potential alternative.
Bayern, meanwhile, are planning to steal a march on Madrid in the transfer market. According to reports in Italy, the Bundesliga giants are ready to offer €100m for Osimhen next summer, which promises to be a big-spending window with moves anticipated for Mbappé and Haaland with the likes of Chelsea, PSG and Manchester United all in the market as well.
Lewandowski’s future remains up in the air and Bayern are also interested in acquiring the services of Haaland if the Poland goal-machine decides to seek pastures new.
Barcelona have also emerged as contenders for Mbappé, whose contract at the Parc des Princes expires in June 2022.
Madrid remains the most likely destination for France forward if he does decide to leave PSG but Madrid will be keeping tabs on Osimhen for the remainder of the season as a Plan B.
