They were arraigned by the state police command for criminal conspiracy, theft, and receiving of stolen property.
Earlier when the case was first called, all the defendants denied the charges against them, but the prosecutor, Sergt Galeon Nimrod, countered their denial.
The prosecutor told the court that a businessman, Aduku Emeka Emmanuel of Kofare in Yola North LGA, came to Karewa police station in Yola North on the 2nd October 2021 and lodged a complaint of theft in his warehouse.
He told the court that the complainant had reported that his property, the diapers, valued at N1.35 million were carted away and strongly suspected Augustine and Warzartida.
The prosecutor added that when the accused persons were interrogated at the police station, they all confessed to the crime.
While entering his plea, the accused security guard confessed that there were serious incidents of theft in the warehouse, especially of the property in question, but that he did not participate in the crime.
