Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, on Tuesday night, told Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, to go for a walk and leave him alone following his side’s Champions League 2-2 draw against the Red Devils.
Ronaldo was impressive for Man United against Atalanta as the Portugal captain scored a brace to ensure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side got a point against their host.
After the game, Gasperini, who is well aware of Ronaldo’s abilities from his time at Juventus, was seen talking with the 36-year-old on the pitch.
The two men embraced at the full-time whistle and the Atalanta gaffer was questioned about what was discussed between them at his post-match press conference.
He said, “Nine out of 10 of his shots are on target. Half of the time he shoots it goes in, the other half are saved by the goalkeeper.
“I said something to him in Italian, but I can’t say it here on television. Basically, I said, ‘Come on, go for a walk’. Let him leave me alone.”
