The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the nomination of Hon. Abdulazeez Idris King and Engr. Mohammed Sani Baba for appointment as Federal Commissioners of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The confirmation of the nominees followed the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs that screened candidates.
The commissioner-designates are to represent Kogi and Bauchi States respectively on the Commission.
The Chairman, Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs, Olubunmi Adetunmbi, in his presentation, said based on available documents and responses made to the Committee during the screening exercise, the nominees satisfied the requirements for appointment into public service.
President Muhammdu Buhari had in his letter of request for confirmation said the appointments were in accordance with the provision of Section 154(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, congratulated the nominees on their confirmation and urged them to carry out their duties diligently upon assumption of office.
