Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on Wednesday appointed Princess Philomena Ihenyen as Political Adviser for the Edo Central Senatorial District of the state.
The latest appointment brought the number of special advisers appointed by Obaseki in his second term to 12 following the earlier appointment of 11 last month. The state House of Assembly had some months ago approved 15 SAs for the governor
In addition to Ihenyen, the governor also appointed 21 Senior Special Assistants and 51 Special Assistants from the same district.
The various appointments were contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Osarodion Ogie.
In the statement, Ogie said that the appointments followed the harmonisation by leaders of the party across all the wards in the five local government areas in the Edo Central Senatorial District.
According to him: “Following the harmonisation of leaders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across all the 51 wards of Edo Central Senatorial District, Governor Godwin Obaseki has approved the appointment of Princess Philomena Ihenyen as Political Adviser (Edo Central) as well as the underlisted Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants.”
