Cristiano Ronaldo, superstar Manchester United striker, is expected to disappoint the club’s manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, by refusing to retire from international football.
Ronaldo has made 183 appearances for Portugal, scoring 115 goals.
Despite turning 36 in February this year, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner shows no signs of slowing down.
Ronaldo was re-signed by Manchester United from Juventus during the summer transfer window, and the former Real Madrid star hasn’t disappointed thus far, netting nine goals in 13 games for the Red Devils.
According to the Daily Star, Ronaldo is now primed to disappoint Solskjaer by refusing to call it quits as he wants to become the first player to earn 200 international caps, with Portugal in pole position to reach the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The report added that Man United are resigned to Ronaldo playing with Portugal after next year’s World Cup in Qatar.
However, despite his exploits, Ronaldo is yet to win the World Cup.
