Barcelona coach, Xavi Hernandez, has told the club hierarchy to sign Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta on a free transfer next summer, according to ESPN.
Azpilicueta has spent ten seasons with the Blues, helping them win two Premier League championships, as well as the Champions League, FA Cup, and Europa League thrice.
The present contract of the Spain international ends at the conclusion of the 2021/22 season, and the Blues have yet to reach an agreement with the 32-year-old.
Chelsea hoped the Spain international would have to convince the club to remain at Stamford Bridge.
ESPN reports that the Catalan giants’ new boss has demanded that they sign the 32-year-old and the former LaLiga champions are now keeping tabs on the player’s situation at Stamford Bridge.
