The Iyaloja General of Nigeria, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Tinubu-Ojo has revealed the reason behind the closure of the popular Oyingbo Market in Lagos.
Speaking with Newsmen in Alausa, Ikeja on Wednesday, Tinubu-Ojo said she acted on the order of the Chairman of Mainland Local Government Area, Hon. Omolola Essien.
According to her, She received a call from the Chairman of Mainland Local Government Area, Hon. Omolola Essien who informed her of the Bad Hygenic Condition and Deplorable State of the Matket as food items being sold there might pose a risk to human health if consumed.
Tinubu-Ojo stated that she visited the Market and ordered the Traders to carry out a sanitation, She also noted that the Market would not reopened until it is properly cleaned.
She also denied allegations that she ordered Oyingbo Market Traders to pay a levy of #5million, she noted that it was a common blackmail to cover up their misbehaviour.
