The Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) said on Saturday that the Abuja-Kaduna and Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge train services resumed operations following the suspension of the railway employees’ strike.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that railway workers, on Thursday embarked on a three-day warning strike over staff welfare issues, leaving passengers stranded.
The strike paralysed all rail transportation operations across the country.
Mr Fidet Okhiria, the Managing Director of Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC), confirmed that operations resumed today in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“The NRC management and the union had directed workers to resume work with immediate effect in a joint communique suspending the strike on Friday night,” he said.
