Air Peace flight P47159 Owerri to Lagos had a bird strike on Monday, a few minutes after take-off.
Stanley Olisa, the Head of Communications, confirmed the incident in a statement.
The spokesman disclosed that the parameters of one of the engines was seriously affected.
The pilot diverted to Port-Harcourt, safely landed the aircraft and the passengers disembarked.
“We have dispatched a rescue team and aircraft to airlift the passengers of the affected flight”, Olisa noted.
The statement assured of the airline’s commitment to the highest standards of safety.
In other news, the Access Bank branch located in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital reportedly caught fire today, November 22.
It was gathered that fire service officials whose office is a stone throw from the bank are yet to arrive at the scene of the incident.
Staff working in the bank were said to have all escaped to safety while passersby are making effort to stop the fire.
