Federico Chiesa, a forward for Juventus, is expected to join Chelsea in a surprise move.
Chelsea are willing to launch a ‘monster’ £84 million deal for the 24-year-old at the end of the season, according to Calciomercato.
According to the report, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is a fan of Chiesa and could receive support from the club’s CEO Marina Granovskaia as they try to entice the forward to Stamford Bridge.
Chiesa drew the attention of prominent European teams this summer after putting in some outstanding performances for Italy, earning him a spot in the Team of the Tournament as they won Euro 2020 after defeating England in the final.
Chelsea will have to compete with clubs such as Bayern Munich for his signature.
Chiesa is currently on loan at Juventus from Fiorentina.
But Juventus have an agreement to sign the Italy international on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
Chiesa, meanwhile, scored the only goal of the game when Chelsea lost 1-0 to Juventus in the Champions League back in September.
But he was unable to replicate a similar display as Chelsea thrashed the Serie A giants 4-0 in the reverse fixture on Tuesday night.
