Port Harcourt: 16-year-old girl who accused her father of rape makes U-turn at police station

In Port Harcourt, River State, a 16-year-old girl who accused her father of raping her has changed her story in the police station, claiming that she was influenced into making the ‘false’ accusation by an evil spirit.

According to the Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, the teenager reported her father rapping her on Tuesday, November 22nd to Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Mile 3 Diobu, Comrade Godstime Ihunwo.

She later changed her mind at the Human Rights Desk of the Rivers State Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, telling investigators and detectives that she was misled by an evil spirit to falsely accuse her father.

“Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign was contacted upon her complain to the Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu Oroworukwo, Mile 3 Diobu, PortHarcourt,” the group said in a statement on Thursday.

“Members Of Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign and members of the community vigilance group took the 16-year-old girl and her father to the Human Rights desk at Rivers State Police headquarters, Moscow road, Port Harcourt.

In a twist she told the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nnamdi Omoni who also doubles as head of Human Rights desk at the Police headquarters that she was influenced by an evil spirit to accuse her father falsely.

“Her father was granted bail based on the retraction of her first statement”
