The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) says 3,487,298 Nigerians have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The Executive Director, Dr Faisal Shuaib, made the announcement at the start of mass vaccination in Nasarawa State.
Shuaib said as of Friday, November 26, a total of 6,242, 224 eligible persons had received their first doses of the vaccine.
“From the data above, it is clear that Nigeria is still far from reaching its target of vaccinating almost 112 million of its eligible population,” he noted.
Shuaib added that the Federal Government is stepping up vaccination in view of the festive period to avoid risk of virus spread.
“The main aim of the mass vaccination campaign is to vaccinate 50 per cent of Nigeria’s eligible population by January 2022,” the official told reporters.
