Oyo State government has suspended a female student of Jericho High School, Ibadan for allegedly conspiring with her mother to assault another student, some teachers and parents.

It was gathered that the girl and her mother hired hoodlums who invaded the school and attacked the victims during a Parent-Teacher Association meeting.

The identities of the student and her mother had yet to be revealed as of press time.

The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Rahman Abdu-Raheem, confirmed the student’s suspension in a statement on Tuesday.

The statement read, “The Oyo State Government has suspended a female student of Jericho High School, Ibadan.

“The student, in company with her mother, recently invaded the school with hefty thugs and miscreants, assaulting a male student, teachers and other parents during an ongoing PTA meeting.

“The mayhem was said to have been ignited by the girl’s mother and other accomplices, thereby causing tension in the school.”

Abdu-Raheem expressed displeasure at the incident, saying government would take further action to serve as a deterrent to other parents and pupils.
