Nigeria records 55 new cases of COVID-19 in six states

As the battle against COVID-19 continues, Nigeria has recorded 55 new cases of the deadly disease in six states.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update for Sunday, December 5.

According to the data provided by the agency, Lagos state recorded the highest number of cases with 37 new infections.

Edo (6), Osun (5), Oyo (4), Ogun (2), and Ekiti (1).

There were no fatalities from COVID on Monday, and the total number of deaths stands at 2,980.

Also, 23 people were discharged on Sunday after recovering from the infection.

To date, 214,622 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria with 207450 discharges made.
