The House of Representatives has urged the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to reopen its permanent orientation camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The House said despite the peace in the state, the NYSC has refused to reopen the camp.
It mandated its Committee on Youth Development to investigate the situation.
The House also mandated the Committee on Legislative Compliance to ensure implementation.
The resolutions followed the adoption of a motion on the “Need to Reopen the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp, Maiduguri,” moved by Usman Zannah.
The House noted that for over 10 years, the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Maiduguri has been shut down due to insurgency.
