Residents in Katsina State’s 13 frontline local government areas who were refused access to mobile telecommunications services owing to banditry attacks in their community will be able to use them again now that the government has completed measures to lift the restriction.
Ibrahim Katsina, the state’s Special Adviser on Security Matters, stated this in a phone chat with reporters on Friday.
“As I speak to you, network have been restored in some local government areas,” Katsina was quoted to have said.
Recall that the shut down of telecommunication networks implemented three months ago, was part of the measures adopted by the state government to contain the security challenges experienced in the state.
The 13 local governments disconnected from the mobile telecommunication network include: Sabuwa, Faskari, Dandume, Batsari, Danmusa, Kankara, Jibia, Safana, Dutsin-Ma, Funtua, Bakori, Malumfashi and Kurfi LGA.
Kaduna and Jigawa State Governments had since restored telecommunication network in the affected frontline areas of the state.
