The government of United Kingdom (UK) has lifted the pause on processing visitor visas in all countries previously on the red list including Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement released on Wednesday by the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI).
“From 4:00 am on 15th December, all countries currently on the red list will be removed. In line with the lifting of red list restrictions, UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) will lift the pause on processing visitor visas in all countries previously on the red list,” the statement reads.
WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that the United Kingdom is expected to remove Nigeria from its red list and the travel bans it imposed over fears of the Omicron variant.
According to Guardian UK, all 11 countries on England’s travel red list are to be taken off it from 4:00am on Wednesday, amid diminishing concern about Omicron cases being imported into the country.
