Manchester United striker, Edinson Cavani, has chosen to play for Barcelona.
According to TyC Sports, Cavani, who is out of contract at Old Trafford next summer, has decided that he wants to move to the LaLiga giants.
Cavani also had an offer from Boca Juniors, but he has elected to turn that down in favour of the Blaugrana.
The Uruguay international would likely be available for a nominal fee in January.
The 34-year-old, who is motivated to help turn Barcelona’s fortunes around, is keen to replace Sergio Aguero at Camp Nou after the Argentine retired from football.
Cavani wants to sign with Barcelona in January on a contract that will run until June 30, so it is hardly likely to be a long-term measure.
Manchester United would be happy to lose Cavani’s salary off the books immediately, especially with him playing such little football.
Cavani hasn’t been on the pitch since the November 2 match with Atalanta in the Champions League.
His last goal came on October 30 in the victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
