‘It will not last’ – Yahaya Bello says Nigeria going through a phase

Governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello has stated that the country is going through a phase that will not last.

Bello in a Christmas message on Friday said the season signifies hope for mankind and citizens should remain optimistic about a better country.

The governor asked citizens to emulate God’s love to mankind and replicate the same to their neighbors during the season.

Bello said though the holiday season is a good time to spend with family, friends and loved ones, it should also be for sober reflections and a time of prayers for peace, unity and togetherness of the country.

“Citizens of the confluence state are able witness yet another Christmas period,” Onogwu Mohammed, chief press secretary to the governor, quoted him as saying.

“Despite several hurdles faced individually and collectively, God Almighty has ceaselessly shown his boundless mercy and love to mankind.

“The past months from the beginning of the year, Kogi state has experienced a high level of peace and tranquility owing to the administration’s commitments to the security and safety of the citizenry.

“Despite setbacks experienced, the government had remained unwavering in this cause.”

Bello said there has been remarkable and notable advancement in socio-economic growth and infrastructural development in the state.

The governor said Nigerians should not cease to preach the message of peace and good neighbourliness as they to enter the New year.
