Five travellers who were victims of armed robbery attack at Osu/Ondo expressway have been rescued by Osun State Security Network Agency, better known as Amotekun Corps.
According to DAILY POST, the Amotekun Osun Media Officer, Yusuf Idowu, revealed that the vehicle, which was coming from Lagos State, was attacked on Thursday night along the expressway at Osu town. He also revealed that the armed robbers were dislodged and their victims rescued by personnel who were on Yuletide patrol.
According to Amotekun, the armed robbers held their victims in the bush with the intention of extorting money from them but upon sighting their personnel, they engaged them in a gun duel and they fled.
“One of the traveller sustained a machete wound and he is receiving treatment in a private medical facility and the corps are in the vicinity searching for the remaining victim,” it said.
Meanwhile, personnel of Amotekun Osun, on Thursday also rescued two persons, a father and his son whose car was engulfed in flames along the Ibadan/Ilesa expressway in Osun State.
Information obtained from Osun Amotekun revealed that the incident occurred when the Toyota Camry they were travelling in went up in flames.
The cause of the fire, it was disclosed, may be due to engine over heating.
