Anambra State police have apprehended a suspect in connection with the September 30 attack on the Ajalli Police Station.
During the reign of unknown gunmen in the run-up to the Anambra governorship election, the Ajalli Police Station in Orumba North was attacked by gunmen, and the station was also plundered by unidentified persons.
DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, the state police command’s spokesperson, informed newsmen that one of the attackers was apprehended by command officers on Christmas Day.
The suspect, Emmanuel Nwafor was apparently cruising with a motorcycle on Christmas Day, and the motorcycle is said to be part of the properties looted from the station.
Ikenga in a terse press statement said: “Emmanuel Nwafor “M”, age 25yrs. Address : Umuevee Ajalli Orumba North Lga .
“Arrested By Operatives Of Ajalli Division On 25th December 2021 . Suspect Was Found With One Of the exhibit motorcycles looted from Ajalli Police Station During The Attack By Hoodlums On 30th Sept. 2021.”
He said the suspect was already helping the police with useful information, adding that there have ascertained any connection yet between the suspect and the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
