Abioye reacts to Osun PDP crisis, says Bisi remains the party chair

National Convention

Hashim Abioye, the secretary to the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party Legal Committee has stated that Mr Sunday Bisi, the chairman of the faction in the party backed by Senator Ademola Adeleke, remains the legitimate leader of the PDP in Osun.

This was contained in a statement signed by Abioye in which he contended that the group that appointed Mr Wale Ojo as the acting chairman wanted to distabilise the party.

Recall that a group backed by the current South-West Vice Chairman of the party, Soji Adagunodo, had appointed Ojo as the new Osun acting chairman.

Reacting to the development, Abioye said, “As it is today, there is no vacancy in Osun PDP chairmanship (office) as Honourable Sunday Bisi is the official and legitimate chairman of the party in Osun State.

“Their target is to undo the validly-conducted and concluded ward/national delegates congresses successfully  held across Osun State, which have now been duly ratified at the National Convention of the party which ushered in the present NWC/NEC of the party.

“The Legal Committee of Osun PDP hereby appeals for calm among loyalists and members of the party in Osun. The committee also assures all executive members of the party at the ward, local government and state levels across Osun State that there is no cause for alarm and that all activities of the party at the said levels be carried on without hesitation and without any fear of molestation or harassment from any quarters.”
