The family of a retired head teacher, Rachael Afolabi, has been thrown into panic after she disappeared while visiting her daughter in the Ajegunle area of Lagos State.
It was gathered that Afolabi on December 18, 2021, left the Orodu area of Ajegunle to visit one of her daughters staying in the Oluwa end of the community.
The 65-year-old woman was said to have embarked on the journey with another daughter on two separate motorcycles.
However, when the motorcycle riders got to the Tolu Medical Junction, they took different paths and the sexagenarian could not be found.
According to PUNCH, her son-in-law, Oladokun Babatunde, said all efforts to find her proved abortive.
He said, “My mother-in-law had been sick for a while and that was why she was brought to Lagos from Oyo State for good care; she had been here for the past four months.
“Two Saturdays ago, she and her daughter (my wife’s sister) wanted to come and meet my wife in the shop, so they took separate motorcycles from the junction of their house to her shop.
“When they got to Tolu Medicals, I learnt that there was traffic so the riders took different routes only for my wife’s sister to get to our shop and we started waiting for mama to come. The rider that took her didn’t say that he didn’t know the way. It was an hour later when we didn’t see her that we started looking for them.
“When we eventually saw the rider, he took us to where he dropped mama but we could not find her and since then, we’ve been looking for her. This incident has affected us a lot because since then, I can’t go to work. We’ve been going up and down looking for her; my wife and her sister are disturbed about her disappearance.”
It was learnt that the matter was reported at the Trinity Police Station.
