Six killed, 17 injured as bus, truck collide in Kogi

Six persons have been killed and 17 sustained varying degrees of injury when two vehicles lost control and collided on Christmas Day in Kogi State.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, Kogi State, the accident occurred around 11.40am at Oskoshko, along the Obajana-Lokoja Road.

The FRSC report on Tuesday indicated that a commercial Toyota Hiace bus with the number plate, KTN 04 YX, had a head-on collision with a Daf truck with the number plate, QAB 961 XA.

A total of 31 people — 25 males and six females — were involved, out of which six were killed.

The agency added that eight passengers, who were not injured, were discharged after medical check-ups.

While the injured were taken to the Fisayo Hospital, Obajana, the corpses were deposited in a mortuary in the area.
