Karebo Samson has been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the acting controller-general of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).
This appointment was confirmed on Thursday by FFS spokesperson, Ugo Huan via a statement.
Samson will take over from Liman Ibrahim, the outgoing controller-general who was appointed on March 29, 2019.
Samson while speaking on the appointment expressed appreciation to the president and Rauf Aregbesola, minister of interior, for the privilege to serve.
He promised to carry all officers of the agency along to sustain discipline and enable proper discharge of duties.
On his part, Liman Ibrahim, the outgoing controller-general, appreciated the president opportunity, adding that the administration has enhanced the standard of the federal fire service.
According to Ibrahim, Buhari’s mission to protect the lives and properties of citizens contributed to the success of his tenure while he served as the controller-general of the service.
He urged Samson to ensure that ongoing projects are completed and assured him of his continuous support.
He also encouraged officers of the service to support to the newly-appointed CG.
