Nnamdi Kanu speaks on arrest of Okorocha’s son-in-law, curses IPOB ‘haters’

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has claimed that politicians are to blame for the atrocities committed in Imo State.

According to Kanu, recent developments in Imo State have vindicated IPOB’s claim to be responsible for the state’s insecurity.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that during a church service on December 26, police officers arrested Uche Nwosu, the son-in-law of Imo West Senator Rochas Okorocha.

The state Police Command has since freed Nwosu, with no explanation offered for their decision.

During a memorial service for his mother at the St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Eziama-Obieri, Nkwerre Local Government Area of the state, men from the state police command detained the former governorship candidate.

However, Kanu insisted that the state government was responsible for atrocities in the state and not IPOB.

This was disclosed by his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, after their routine meeting at the Department of State Services, DSS, headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday.

According to Ejiofor, Kanu also placed a curse on the enemies of IPOB.

IPOB had severally been linked to the activities of unknown gunmen in Imo State.

But, the group had denied claims that its members were responsible for the killings and kidnapping in the state.

However, Ejiofor quoted Kanu as asking his followers against taking up arms and engaging in all forms of criminalities.

Ejiofor said: “The recent stunning revelation in Imo State vindicates Onyendu entirely. He has long before now made the point that the chilling atrocities perpetrated in Imo State by agents of darkness are the handiwork of politicians, who are their mastermind and pay masters.

“He predicted that many more criminal gangs ravaging our land will sooner than later gravitate to their deserving and ignoble end.

“When they actualise their evil plan in any instance, they knowingly instigate a false propaganda and lay blame for what they have done on the door step of members of IPOB. Onyendu has today cursed the persons concerned and has declared that eternal perdition will be their reward.”
