Former Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama, has lost one of his brothers, Emmanuel Adam Mahama.
A statement by Special Aide to Mahama, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, stated that Emmanuel died on Friday, December 31, 2021.
“With deep sorrow, we announce the death of Emmanuel Adam Mahama, a brother of HE John Dramani Mahama, on Friday 31st December 2021 after a period of illness.
“The family will announce plans for his burial and funeral in due course,” the statement said.
Mahama served as President of Ghana from 24 July 2012 to 7 January 2017. He previously served as Vice President of Ghana from January 2009 to July 2012, and took office as president on 24 July 2012 following the death of his predecessor, John Atta Mills.
