Suspected kidnapper, Sani Idi, has been arrested by operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command and one pistol with 6 rounds of live ammunitions, padlocks, chains and other items recovered from him.
The State Police spokesperson, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who made this known in a statement on Wednesday, January 5, said the 32-year-old suspect was arrested at his hideout on Tuesday.
“The command’s operatives attached to Gombi Division, on the 4/1/2022 dismantled a criminal network of kidnappers and apprehended a 32 year old Sani Idi, a resident of Buladega village of Mubi south local government and recovered one pistol Gun with six rounds of live ammunitions in his hideout at Ngasa village, Gombi local government,” he stated.
The suspect during interrogation confessed to belonging to a syndicate of six that masterminded the kidnap of Alhaji Oro Musa of Gombi local government and three others sometimes December, 2021.
The CP commended the operatives for dislodging and reclaiming the public space and directed all the Divisional police officers and their supervisory Area commanders to intensity effort in dislodging the crime network in their Areas of responsibilities by denying the criminals opportunity to regroup anywhere in the state.
The police boss equally assured that any person apprehended for violating the laws of the land or disrupting the public peace will be prosecuted.
The CP assured the good people of Adamawa state of sustained efforts by the police in fighting crimes, improving public safety and security across the state in the year 2022.
