Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski has been named Polish sports person of the year for the third time.
The 33-year-old, who broke Gerd Mueller’s record of 40 goals in a Bundesliga season last term, also won in 2015 and 2020.
On Instagram, he wrote, “The sportsperson of the year award means a lot to me because the choice is made by you —— the fans”.
A gala took place in Warsaw late on Saturday for the 87th time.
Meanwhile, Liverpool academy goalkeeper, Liam Hughes, has left the club to join Stalybridge Celtic on loan for the remainder of the season.
Liverpool confirmed this in a statement via their website.
Hughes moved to Liverpool from Glasgow Celtic last January and then signed a new contract with the club during the summer.
The 20-year-old has been part of the Reds’ U23s squad since his arrival.
He has also twice been named on the senior team’s bench by Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp.
