As the Nigerian Super Eagles are preparing to clash against Tunisia in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Round of 16 tie on Sunday, former Nigerian goalkeeper, Ike Shorunmu, has told the Nigerian team what they can do to defeat their opponent.
Days after winning their group stage matches against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau Nigeria will battle Tunisia, in the AFCON last-16 fixture at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium, Garoua in Cameroon on Sunday night.
But Shorunmu, a former Beskitas of Turkey goalkeeper, wants Austine Eguavoen’s side to play with commitment when they face Tunisia, adding that they should work for each other.
“I think the commitment of the players was the key factor [for qualifying for AFCON Round of 16],” Shorunmu told Completesports.
“The players worked for each other. They should continue like that [against Tunisia].”
The kick-off time for Nigeria vs Tunisia is 8 pm.
