Police in Jigawa have discovered the body of a three-year-old boy named Aminu Bukar, who went missing on January 14 in the state’s Guri Local Government Area.
ASP Lawan Shiisu, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed this in a statement made on Friday in Dutse.
Shiisu stated that the deceased’s father, Alhaji Bukar, had previously reported to authorities that his child had gone missing at around 4:00 p.m. on the same date in Dolen Zugu Village.
Shiisu said on the receipt of the report, a team of policemen swung into action and later discovered Aminu’s corpse at Tudun Mai Jambo bush, about one kilometre from the village.
The PPRO said that Aminu was rushed to the hospital and certified dead by a medical doctor.
He said police investigation concluded that there was no foul play in the boy’s death.
Shiisu said the corpse was later released to the relatives for burial.
